CSIDNet Theory of Change
The CSID Network Theory of Change describes how a global, member-led network can address the growing threat of Climate-Sensitive Infectious Diseases, illnesses whose transmission is directly shaped by shifts in climate and weather. The core argument: technical tools alone cannot solve this problem. Lasting impact requires deliberate investment in the social infrastructure that enables collaboration. This includes building trust across disciplines, geographies, and sectors; developing leaders from historically underrepresented regions; and establishing open, shared technical systems grounded in data sovereignty and justice. Through programs spanning training, convenings, fellowships, and working groups, CSIDNet traces a causal pathway from individual capacity-building to field-wide shifts in practice and policy, with a long-term goal of communities everywhere, especially in under-resourced regions, being able to access, adapt, and mobilise CSID tools to protect public health.
