Working Groups

The CSID Network uses a federated working group structure to allow autonomy for network members to convene and advance relevant topical areas of interest. Working group topics are determined collectively by network members. Each working group is autonomous, with control over the affairs they propose to work on. All working groups share overall goals and objectives with the broader network. The working group structure will feed into the overall governance of the network; representatives from each working group will participate in the overall management of the network through a volunteer-based group called the Representative Council.

Working Groups

Community Engagement for Climate-Sensitive Infectious Diseases

This working group will develop a Toolkit that provides guidance for designing and successfully running community engagement (CE) campaigns in their research settings.

CSID Atlas

This working group will refine CSIDNet’s definition of CSIDs through a review of existing definitions, literature, and input from experts across disciplines.

CSID Models, Data, and Methods Repository

This working group will co-create a centralized and collaborative repository for cataloging key resources, such as tools, models, datasets, and analytical methods, relevant to cross-sectoral climate-sensitive infectious disease research and management.

Ethical Framework for Climate-Sensitive Infectious Diseases

This working group will build on the Africa Bioethics Network’s ongoing work with the WHO on climate-health ethics to develop targeted ethical guidance for climate-sensitive infectious disease (CSID) research.

Strengthening Climate-Sensitive Early-Warning Systems in LMICs

This working group will develop resources to strengthen Early Warning Systems (EWS) for climate-sensitive infectious diseases (CSIDs) such as malaria, dengue, and cholera in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).
